Hold onto those bounced rent cheques, because if your tenant goes on to be Prime Minister, they might just be worth something.
In 1972, Edinburgh University student Gordon Brown wrote a cheque for £3 to his landlord Bill Paterson. When it was returned unpaid by the bank, Mr Paterson kept it as it was the only bounced cheque he'd ever received. It's now for sale on eBay, currently with a bid of £2,500, which should more than cover the 13p Mr Paterson's bank charged him for returning it.

2.5k for a bounced cheque?! Nutters.
