NLA warning about pre-payment meter scam
The NLA (National Landlords Association) is advising landlords with properties that have pre-payment utility meters to warn their tenants about a scam doing the rounds. The fraud involves energy pre-pay meters that are topped up using Paypoint or Payzone outlets. Fraudsters are going door to door looking for residents with pre-pay meters for gas and electricity and offering them fake... Read more

50% of Landlords will reduce lets to housing benefit tenants
A survey by the National Landlords Association (NLA) reports that over 50% of landlords will be reducing the number of properties they let to housing benefit tenants. According to the survey, 58% stated that they would cut the properties they let to tenants on housing benefits. 90% of those landlords plan to do so in the next 18 months. Rent Arrears down in Q2
The National Landlords Association (NLA) has reported a 3.5% decrease in arrears owed to landlords in the second quarter in comparison to January to March. 21% of landlords surveyed said they has experienced rent arrears. Buy-to-let register is ‘unworkable’
The National Landlords Association is reported to have announced that it believes the Government’s proposed buy-to-let register will not succeed in rooting out bad landlords.
